Two members of IL-Gamma, Joey Feenstra and Cullen Marshall, participated in Monmouth’s 2022 Commencement ceremony on May 15th. There were 172 graduates, and the speakers included Kunal Kapoor ’97, the CEO of Morningstar Inc., and Elizabeth Gustafson ’22, Monmouth’s 2022 Student Lincoln Laureate.
Joey graduated cum laude as a Psychology and Music double major, earning departmental honors for Music. After graduation, Joey will be working for at least a year before he goes to graduate school. Joey has served as the chapter’s VP of Programming, Chaplain, and IFC delegate. He’s also been involved in Jazz Ensemble, Winds Ensemble, Marching Band, Chorale, Chamber Choir, and as a Mental Health Peer Educator.
Cullen is a Biology major with minors in Business Administration and Educational Studies. He’s earned departmental honors for Biology. While he participated in the ceremony, he will actually be returning to Monmouth next fall for an extra semester to finish his EDST minor. Cullen has served as VP of Communications, Senior Marshal for Standards Board, and IFC Secretary and VP of Philanthropy. He’s also been involved in theater, Order of Omega, Mortar Board, and as a Transfer Student Peer Mentor, Title IX and D.E.I. Peer Educator, Orientation Leader, and First-Year Mentor.
Several other brothers performed in the Chorale, Winds Ensemble, and Trumpet Fanfare during the ceremony, making it even more special for the graduating members.
Luckily, Cullen will be back for an extra semester in the fall, and Joey will be nearby to visit for homecoming, so the day’s goodbyes weren’t so sad. Both brothers will go on to do great things and represent SigEp and Monmouth College well as a part of our fraternity. As always, it was a great day to be a SigEp and a Fighting Scot.
