Monmouth College’s 2022 homecoming (MoCo Hoco) took place from September 26th to October 1st. The theme for the week was Mythology, and the various competitive events were put on by the Association for Student Activity Programming (ASAP). Here’s a recap of the week’s events:
SigEp received 1st place in the banner competition and 3rd place in the Highlander Hub Donations Drive. We also participated in Trivia Night and the Cardboard Boat Regatta, though we continued the tradition of sinking early on in the latter event.
Speaking of traditions, on Saturday, we marched in the parade as the SigEp kazoo band. Later during the game against Lawrence University (which we won 62-6), several of the brothers performed as part of the marching band. We also hosted a cookout during the game for our current brothers, alumni, and some potential new brothers on campus that we got to connect with!
Saturday also featured the Fraternity and Sorority Life Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, an event hosted by Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, of which Cullen Marshall ’22 is a member.
Quite possibly most exciting of all, we had two brothers nominated for the 2022 Homecoming Court! Eli Kelly ’23 was nominated for Homecoming Prince, and VP of Recruitment Tommy Green ’22 was awarded Homecoming King! It was great to see our brothers recognized by students across campus as men that represent Monmouth’s student body well.
It was a great week overall for both Monmouth College and IL-Gamma.
